We have peeked into a training session of the current senior judo champions of Croatia in both the male and female categories – judo club Zagreb. We are implementing there as well the Choose Sport project, in cooperation with the Miroslav Krleža primary school in Zagreb. In JC Zagreb, everything seems peaceful until the coach Hrvoje Petranović yells: Hajime! – thus giving the sign for the fights to start –  and from there onwards it’s mayhem.

The ‘Choose Sport,’ by procuring sports equipment – judo kimonos – and free memberships to judo clubs – enables all children to do sports regardless of social differences – because sport is no luxury – but a healthy habit and a right of the child – to health.

The project is financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund, and is being implemented with the partner, the Zagreb Judo Union, and in cooperation with 12 primary schools in Zagreb.
