One merry selfie from the coaches at the very beginning of the work by judo coaches within the project Choose Sport financed by the European Social Fund. Coaches will implement judo trainings in 12 schools in 4 areas of the City of Zagreb.

We know what it means to choose sport. And friendships are forged during the best days spent in sport. Many rely forever on their friends they gained as far back as the sports club. Sport is not a luxury a child cannot access, because his or her parents cannot afford sports gear: sneakers, a jumpsuit or a kimono. Sport is a right and a need of the contemporary man, and a factor of health. Sport has a social value in the upbringing and development of children and youth, for it introduces habits of a healthy life style. The project #ChooseSport (UP.02.1.1.08.0008), by procuring sports equipment – judo kimonos – and through free memberships to judo clubs – enables all children to do sport, regardless of social standing.

It is financed by the European Social Fund, and is being implemented in Zagreb, in cooperation with the Zagreb Judo Union and 12 primary schools in Zagreb.
