Nothing can be achieved without teachers. Bravo for the teacher Nina Marčetić who, in the Matija Gubec primary school in Zagreb, is implementing the project Choose Sport, which is financed by the European Social Fund. Read all about how the teacher motivated both children and parents through this project. “I can say that both parents and children are really thrilled by the project. We have covered 6 school hours so far, but I am certain we shall not stop at 10, because I have also incorporated a practical part alongside the theory we do via Kid Athletes and Olympic Stories. We watch different sport films I found on the internet, we try out the things we have knowledge and skills for. Each pupil writes their own ‘Sports Diary.’ And those parents who were involved in certain sports that are part of our programme will come present the sport they trained, and perhaps teach us a thing or two. I arranged a joint session of physical and health culture together with parents, where we shall play basketball, volleyball, football together, but, however, even if this is no sport, we’ll play the unavoidable avoid the ball game.
