Zagreb, 25 November 2018  – The meeting of the association Pokret – aktivan i zdrav (Movement – Active and Healthy) with the partner, the Zagreb Judo Union (ZJS), where it was agrred the project Choose Sport – UP.02.1.1.08.0008 – financed by the European Social Fund,  will be implemented by the coaches of Zagreb judo clubs, JK Lika and JK Centar. The schedule for the implementation was agreed upon, as well as which schools and kindergartens the project will be implemented in.

Present at the meeting: ZJS President Dean Bogić, ZJS Secretary Miroslav Novković, representatives of the judo club Lika Nikolina Šimunović, Beata Guszak, Denis Beljić, representative of the judo club Centar Hrvoje Lindi, representatives of the association Pokret -aktivan i zdrav Vitomir Spasović, Martina Butković Kontešić and Davor Juričić.

The project “ODABERI SPORT“ motivates, educates and helps pupils – children in adverse social situations and thereby at risk of social exclusion – to choose sport and thus get involved in sports and recreation activities. The project, in an innovative manner acceptable to children, develops the consciousness on the importance of adopting the habits of healthy life styles, and using free time for quality content, through developing long term interest for sport.

The project is implemented by – the association ‘POKRET – AKTIVAN I ZDRAV’- association for promoting physical activity, together with the project partner – the Zagreb Judo Union (ZJS). The partner, ZJS, is of exceptional importance for the project, because they possess great experience and ensure the implementation of the project in 12 primary schools in the area of the City of Zagreb. The partner, ZJS, is also important for the coordination of activities and fostering the awareness of sports activities.
