Klara’s and Rafael’s mums told us about how children with developmental difficulties can train judo without any difficulties and thus summed up the JudoINclusion project aptly – which the association Pokret – aktivan i zdrav (active and healthy) are implementing in Rijeka within the judo club Rijeka. The project is financed by the European Social Fund.
Video summary: Parents say it is difficult to explain the advantages of judo to somebody out of the loop, to a parent who does not believe that children with developmental difficuties do not get hurt there. Perhaps this is because they see judo as a combatant sport. These children cannot swim, for example. The parents tried with swimming but the water was cold so the children would get ill. They also cannot run, cannot skate, cannot ski. In many aspects, judo has proven to be fully adaptable to children with developmental difficulties.
